Exactly! The shear volume of them earlier in the week is the reason why I had to ask if the HOV restrictions were lifted! I think it could be a lot of new commuters not knowing what to do at the end of the toll road...Nothing a few tickets won't solve.

I had to drive into Tyson's/McLean yesterday and Tuesday (intersection of Toll Road extension and 123) and traffic was heavy all the way in from Herndon. It seemed like a lot of the backups had to do with the angle of the sun on some of the hills and that could have caused some of the backup.

yes, it was mentioned previously and i think it could be a cause too. at least tomorrow's friday!
