I have only lived in the area for approx 2 years, so I can't really do my own comparison study. What I will say, however, is I do think there is an illegal problem.

It doesn't matter if one white family moves out and another race or ethnicity moves in if illegals take that families place because there would no longer be say 3-5 people living in that home, there may be upwards of 20...like in the house next to me.

I am def not going to get into the whole illegal thing here beyond that though.

Haven't really notices, and I've been a Lake Ridge resident since 2006. My townhouse community is pretty diverse as it is, and the people who move in/out are usually renters, so I don't really notice them. The immediate families near ours who are more permanent are mostly white, with a couple of black families and one hispanic family. Everyone is generally pleasant, my only real complaint is that it feels like I'm the only person who picks up after their dogs, but other than that, it's a nice enough area.

But that's not going to tell you whether whites are leaving because non-whites are moving in, which is exactly what the term "white flight" connotes.

Is this really the dialogue you wanted to invite? "just curious, did you move out because i moved in?" if more whites are really such a good thing, maybe a fund can be established where minorities pool their resources to sponsor romantic weekend getaways for white couples, subject to the condition that they have to stay in the same house for the next 18 years.

lmao!!!!

My husband and I are white. We moved out of a Lake Ridge townhouse last year. Does that make us part of the problem?

Oh, and we couldn't sell our townhouse, so we rent it out, and our first tenant was black. I guess we really ARE part of the problem since a black family replaced our white family...

Hold on. I think people are taking this way way too personal. I am not suggesting that every white person that moves, moves because they don't like diversity. It is merely an observation that makes me wonder if it is a trend. I don't think this is coincidence. Look at the numbers. Statistically speaking, that is a huge drop off in 10 years. People will have many reasons for leaving/not moving to any area but I just wonder what would be the main one to bring such a change. Please feel free to disagree but don't turn my thoughts into making it seem as though I am generalizing when I am not.

seems like a number of schools in that area are not fully accredited by the state.
