Roads are a disaster headed towards Baltimore and NE of DC headed towards BWI. Check out traffic map and it's all red on 70, 270, and BW parkway.

It will depend on the school system what they do. And this wasn't Snowmageddon II. I work for Prince George's County Schools (MD) and maintenance pretreated the parking lots while school staff did the sidewalks and entrances. Everyone, including emergency personnel, were off today but will be in tomorrow, which is a pre-planned schools closed day anyway.

No system will likely pay overtime but with tomorrow and Monday closed (which they might pay OT for) I'd bet most will open on Tuesday.
I didn't call this Snowmageddon II, but we have around a foot of snow at our 200+ schools, many of which have not been touched. That's going to take a while to clean up.

What kind of pre-treatment does PG do that prevents snow from accumulating on undisturbed pavement and sidewalks?

About the OT, Snowmageddon was kind of unique. Bus driver pay periods run Saturday through Friday. We worked Sat and Sun, followed by a full week of school (I am a supervisor and work 40 hours a week normally). Over 40 hours a week=OT for support staff.

We brine and salt the lots. Well the Admin offices gets brine while the schools get a heavy dose of salt.

I also think we got more rain mixing in over here, I sure did down where I live. Although it's snowing again after about an hour or two of sleet.

We had a plow truck come through for a pass, apparently he decided that just a center lane was fine to clear, didn't clear the side streets off it. No mail either. I'm not going to complain too much, did get out and shovel, was almost finished when 2 guys walked up and asked if I need help (I said "where were you earlier? LOL) - but now it's all covered again

We got the one-lane treatment too, but that was understandable because so many cars had to park on the street. What is not understandable is that Arlington refuses to plow alleys, even though a lot of us have alley-facing garages. So what that means is, when the the weather is worst and Arlington wants people not to park on the streets, we can't use our garages and driveways, because we can't get out of the alleys. That means we have to park on the streets, making it harder for their equipment to get through. Crazy.

It's up now: 2-hour delay or liberal leave/telework.
