Extremely questionable decision with the transit situation to say the least.

Yeah, they probably should've bit the bullet, but I'll take the extra two hours sleep. If I could use unscheduled leave I'd probably do so. I hope that's what ends up happening for the majority of commuters.

Default Politics

Sounds like a political decision....don't want GOP to go on their attack about lazy Fed workers

I hope no one is serious injured or die from his decision with a bad traffic accident....roads are being snowed now and it will get icy throughout the night

Even though I would like to have tomorrow off, 2 hour delay is nearly as good. Basically I get to wake up late, do a couple of hours of work, eat lunch, do some more work, and then leave for a 3 day weekend! And I bet half the office will call in absent anyways which is even better.

A lot of people are whining though on Facebook to the person that is just relaying the messages from his/her boss.

People need to grow up and stop complaining.

EDIT:

People are emailing News 4 asking how the federal government can be opened tomorrow. AHAH! I actually want the government to be open just to make all these crybabies suffer!

I'm so jealous! We've had well over 50" of snow thus far this winter in Pittsburgh, but it's mostly been in the form of incessant 2"-4" snowfalls occurring every several days. I really wanted at least one 6"+ storm this winter since it seems like it's been several years now since we've had that, but, alas, I don't think it's meant to be!

According to Weather.Com the 20190 zip code, my former one in Reston, has had just under 20" of snow over the past 24 hours. This is reminiscent of "Snowmageddon", when we had about three feet of snow over the course of a week. How about sending some of that white stuff up North?

At least we had 1.5" today when we were only supposed to get "flurries".

I guess figure with the temps getting so high today it'll be ok. They're probably right but the drive in could be dicey even with 2 hour delay. My neighborhood looks like crap right now.

So, in reality, you're having a normal winter for that area. Small amounts of snow every couple days, sometimes every day.

Wait until you look out your window in late April and there's still a snow pile in a shady spot. Or snow on Memorial Day.

Back to the DC area. This morning was messy, lots of crunchy ice everywhere.

After Tuesday you guys get a 5-day stretch of days with temps over 50. So go sledding and make those snowmen while you can.
