You see? They really can't win. Too many Monday morning quarterbacks.

Incidentally, all the FCPS decision makers are new, and they are all from Loudoun County. If it's true that folks are more courageous out that way, expect to maybe see more daring school opening/closing decisions. At least 'til they get burned....

Late opening should've been a no-brainer. DC-area drivers are crap in the best of weather conditions, so it is only natural all hell broke loose today.

Saw a flipped SUV on Old Keene Mill this morning on the way to work Multiple teachers and subs were late to school thanks to traffic and accidents, and I've had about 20% of my kids out each period so far.

I was surprised by the decision this morning. I get it (timing wise), but I was still surprised.

I'm not trying to complain. Hindsight is 20/20. The only thing that would've caused me to complain would've been if schools delayed or closed yet the fed govt & everyone else opened on time. I was fully expecting that to happen based on how it usually goes down. I just don't understand why there's such a huge disparity usually between the 2. If the roads are deemed unsafe for school buses they probably are unsafe for the kid's dads and moms driving sedans too.

Very happy that the snow seems to have mostly melted! It was really coming down for a while there.

WTOP kept telling everyone to delay their departure so the roads could be treated.

I'm sure the weather was a factor in that accident, but then again that road needs repaving BADLY! That and Kingstowne Parkway.

Add Burke Centre Parkway to the list.

Why didn't they treat them overnight? We knew the snow wax coming early enough.
