But what about tropical storms this summer?

This week-it looks like all of us are going to get hammered.

That's because this winter won't die. Can't believe the number of snow falls we've had this time. All I have to do it hit "last page" and I know I'll catch up on the latest snow storm!

ChristineVA's thread is titled with "Snow Storm" not tropical storm.

Do we get that many tropical storms anyway? Living all the way over here in Winchester--can't say we see much of those!

I caught all of the local newscasts at 6:00. There was quite a range of totals. Channel 5 showed 5-9, with a 30% chance if 10-12". Another had us around 8" or so and yet another said about 3.5" with nothing accumulating until mid-morning Monday.

I think my yard will still be snow covered by then and the mailman will still be maneuvering around piles.

I called it on the last storm with thurs and Friday being called off for school. This is part of this thread.... In fact, we're already under a winter storm warning.

Prediction is no school on Monday and Tuesday.

I doubt Tuesday, but I do like a comment I saw from a former co-worker back in January about spending the 4th of July with his class. I know, I know, an exaggeration, but am I ever glad I retired last year and don't have to deal with the school schedule this year! Spring break is a LONG way off.

From what ive read from a few diff sites, looks like a midmorning start to accumulation. My lizard brain says OPM will call this one around 4am monday since it looks like some halfway decent amounts are forecasted.

I wish I could turn my alarm off based off the OPM email.

Right now I'm seeing us under a watch, but not a warning.
