Beats me. You live in a bigger place? Your house in Pittsburgh was better insulated? You're doing the wash at home instead of going to a laundromat? You now set your thermostat higher? FWIW my heating bills were much higher when I lived in NY and Colorado, lower when I lived in Los Angeles--but those things don't tell you much as about the city, as they do about personal changes in my life. Also, FWIW, electricity bills were higher in NY, SC and Texas but lower in Colorado. More or less the same as they were in LA.

Probably crappy insulation. The place I lived in Pittsburgh was newly built. The place I live in now looks like it was built in another century lol.

My electric/gas bill isn't really that different than previous years (I put together a spreadsheet of all my bills)

For the poster complaining about his electric bill:
Are you heating with electric (heat pump or resistance)? What did you heat with in Pittsburgh?

Back to the thread:
Just imagine what you'd be doing now if this rain were snow.

Agreed. This winter was long. This winter was filled with snow days and two hour delays. But it was not brutal.

Apparently this thread will never die. March 30, and it's snowing outside my home in Reston as I write this!

Great big beautiful flakes falling at my house in South Lakes Reston!

Good thing we are not in Fargo, ND - looks like they are going to get 8-12" of snow tomorrow.

Yes!! I was thinking the same thing: if this thread remains alive and well into April, I'm going to scream.
