Washington Gas Alternatives (homes, purchase, office)

After doing a google search it appears that there are plenty of customers who have issues with them, their reviews are atrocious. But it appears they are allowed to do that due to lack of competition.

I was hoping that is still not the case and there is an alternative option for heating. We have a large gas space heater in our office, but had some issues with WG and dont plan on going back with them due to principle i simply cannot pay to a rude and unwilling company.

They are the only source. Had 3-homes over 30-year period with gas and don't think I ever had contact with them. What type of interaction did you need that created your negative impression of the company?
