my wife and I have been looking at houses to rent in Dale City and Woodbridge. We have found a few places yep we found a house we really like in Dumfries.but it seems like some of those neighborhoods in Dumfries are not very favorable. what do you guys think is it worth it not having as good of a house if you get to live in Dale City or Woodbridge?

All 3 communities have their good and bad. You just need to choose carefully while considering your budget. I would stay clear of Williamstown in Dumfries but there are some good neighborhoods in each. Just post what you've found and I'm sure someone will post with an opinion.

I was looking right off of wayside dr. walking distance from wal mart. The neighborhood did not look too bad. Is there some thing I need to watch out for?

I saw another one in Triangle anyone have reservations about that area? I am worried about being too far isolated from the Woodbridge/dale city area.

"Not very favorable" is interpreted differently. You probably have an idea already if the rent offered is lower than the rest of your searches in the same general area. Is the issue crime? Accessible stores? Good bus route? If vehicle break ins are an issue but you don't own a car... If the businesses all have bars on the windows... What's your price range? Priorities?

Agreed.

Woodbridge/Dumfeies both have some great and not so great areas. For Dumfries, I'd look at the part of Dumfries that is off of 234. With Woodbridge, Lake Ridge (22192) is a pretty good area with lots of families, low crime etc. Dale City (22193) also has some good neighborhoods with lots of families, I'd stay away from the spots with the older homes especially off of Dale Blvd. The parts of Dale City with the older homes tend to have more crime. 22191 is mixed with some super shady spots, like Dale City it tends to be the older neighborhoods but some of the newer developments seem OK.

Good luck!

You need to list the street when you want this answered. Triangle has both good and not so good areas.

agreed.

as usual, BigFoot is spot on.

edit* and I said in your other thread, call the number I listed and ask for the most recent calls on that street. feel free to zoom in on a map and ask about surrounding neighborhood streets too.

If you're working with an agent, they'll be limited in what they can legally respond with to some of your questions. I gave you a viable resource in your other thread that comes straight from the police dept.
