Hello
We are moving to the area this summer and have a preschooler who will be in kindergarten the following year. We are looking to be close to the pentagon, my husband is in the navy and weare planning on renting. We were thinking of staying in the 22302 or 22310 zip codes but then heard 22308 has great schools as well. I don't know if that is too far from the pentagon? Also any recommendations/help with the preschools. I have heard westminster preschool and first baptist are great as well as lee district rec ( which the public building idea has me a little nervous to be truthful). Any further help is greatly appreciated! Also I was looking into st ritas preschool!?

Don't worry about the "public aspect" of Lee Rec. It is a great place, as are all the Fairfax county rec centers. I've never seen anything as nice as what they have here. Those zips are all pretty different, depends on what you are looking for. I live in 22315, (Kingstowne) which is right next to 22310 and as you will find on others posts is full of military. All areas are within commuting of the Pentagon. Not many with families really live "near" the pentagon as that is apts etc.

Other than the school issue - some thiings to consider...how much are you willing to spend for rent? How will he get to the pentagon, metro, drive, (does he have parking there), do you want SFH or TH. Being closer to 22310, 22315, and 22308 will give you better access to Ft Belvoir which will more than likely be your serviceing hospital, as well as the commisary, PX etc.

And welcome to NOVA!

My son went to All Gods Children which is at a methodist church at the corner of Beulah and Franconia (22310 zip). Bush Hill Presby Preschool is good too. We liked AGC a lot.

9-1 T/W/R/F -- you can do three or four days. The facility isn't much to look at, but the teachers are great.
