Okay. Need some guidance on our NOVA folks that commute into DC. (shudder) On Nov. 3 I need to be at 99 New York Ave. N.E. at 0830. This is the ATF HQ. I live in Manassas very close to the Manassas City VRE station. Is taking this into DC an option for this location or should I go to the Vienna Orange Line and take this in? I understand the Orange line comes in close to 99 NY Ave but I would of course have to deal with traffic to get to the Vienna station.

Thoughts from the experts.

ATF sits right across the street from the NoMa metro. It's less than a mile from Union Station. Does VRE take you in to Union Station? It's probably only a stop or two away from there.

Not sure as I don't use VRE.

It looks like the Manassas VRE line goes right to Union Station. General Schedule Information - VRE Then take Metro or walk to your location.

I would do that. Why fight traffic and drive to Vienna if you don't have to? Relax and enjoy the train ride. :-)

I'm leaning towards this route. Anyone know if there is a breakfast spot near this location on NY Ave? I get up so early I can be there well in advance.

Constitution Cafe sits across First Street from ATF Hq. They are open for breakfast. I think there is also a sandwich shop right at the metro but can't think of it off the top of my head.

I would definitely take VRE to Union Station then metro to Noma (or you could walk from Union Station but it's probably a mile or so). Driving in stinks and parking down there isn't the greatest.

NoMA is just one stop away from Union Station on the Red Line (The only Metro line that goes through Union Station). It's real easy.

If the weather is nice that day, you could take the Orange Line to Capitol South and then walk the few blocks across the Capitol grounds to Union Station to get on the Red Line. But that's really only worth doing if you have extra time and would enjoy the walk/scenery. (Or would rather not deal with transferring to Red at Union Station.)
