Hi everyone,

Well, the title's self-explanatory. What are the best home cable/internet/phone service providers? Don't need several TV channels and "good" internet service will do. We've seen bundles starting at $79 per month for the first 24 months however they appear to have several hidden fees in the small print that would take the monthly cost up over $100. Does anyone use Roku?

Same with cell phones. We need two lines and we saw a plan with T-Mobile that costs $80 per month but not sure how good they are. Any thoughts? What companies/plans do you have and how much do they cost?

Verizon FIOS is the best for TV & internet. Most stable and most consistent speed. I hardwired Ethernet to all TV locations in my house. Video streaming is never a problem.

For cellphone, it depends on the reception at your house. My house couldn't get good Sprint or T-Mobile signal. So I went with AT&T.

Also, if you are moving from Germany to here as your user name suggests, TV, mobile, and internet connection prices here are outrageous compared to Europe.

Verizon FIOS is the best but if you can live with "good" then you might be able to settle for Comcast/Cox. Depends on what you're using it for. I'm not sure I'd be comfortable with Comcast if I was streaming movies all the time.

Verizon Wireless definitely has the best wireless service but it's comes at a pretty penny. Can't tell you how many friends I have that complain about their Sprint service.

I guess it depends on where you live. I will be getting verizon int but they don't have fios in my area of Ashburn so I went with Direct TV again. Got a very good deal and I never had a problem with Direct in the past.

Agree it depends on where you live and what's available, have you checked into that?
