Agreed. Rockville is great, but I really like Silver Spring a lot. Probably the most diverse DC suburb all around

You don't say! That makes two of us that went to "ghetto" schools and haven't started smoking crack yet.

But expecting for you and your kids to always be in the majority...might as well try and at least get comfortable with the idea of other places existing, like my general area. The local elementary schools in a short radius from my house have a white population of about 7-15%, depending on the school.
I interpreted OP's statement as being fine with a White population of 30-40% and a largely middle/UMC-class population of whatever race. Being fine with living in Centreville/Fairfax City/Herndon doesn't mean you have to be fine with living in Culmore or the West Pike in Arlington (I lived near Glebe and the Pike for a couple years).

You see this from Blacks, Hispanics, Indians, etc. No one wants to be the only one of their ethnic/income group, and there are various threads on here and other fora asking essentially "where are the (fill in the blank) in (fill in the blank area)?"

I fail to see how OP's desire to live among a lower percentage of whites is somehow racist/wrong as I seem to be reading from your post.
