Attached: I would like to expand the driveway a little wider to let two cars pass through, do I need permit to do so?

Where can I find a contractor to do such kind of job?

Thanks.

Not in Fairfax County, but in PWC, I had a house (new construction) where we wanted the driveway/garage on the opposite side of the house from what the original blueprints called for. It cost $6,000 for the County to come out and 'install' the new apron in the curb and fill in the old apron that was there.

I'd take some pictures from both front and back of the sidewalk and take them to the FFX County building at Government Center Pkwy. They'll be able to get you sorted out.

Yes, you will need permits, from the county and/or VDOT. You would be cutting into VDOT pavement.

This entire project is on VDOT right-of-way. In most places, they own the sidewalk, the apron, and the strip of grass.

Are you in an HOA? Mine only allows 16 ft on any driveway...no matter how wide you make the driveway, it has to be 16ft at the street.
