Help! I've procrastinated and am down to the last day.

I need to find an angel for a child's room. It doesn't have to be a childproof angel, but I would like it to be a treasured keepsake.

Anyone? I haven't been shopping in ages and don't know where to start. I live in Occoquan, right off 95.

This is for a child's Christening - if anyone has an alternate suggestion I am all ears. I have about 3 hours tomorrow in this lovely weather.

Thanks in advance.

Hmmm - I figure Christmas Attic in Old Town would have an ornament MAYBE - have you tried Hallmark stores for something? (just curious as to why such short notice but understand if it "just came to you")

I imagine a Christian or Catholic bookstore would have something that fits the bill.

Work hours have me stretched thin, I wound up working both Saturday and Sunday last weekend. On Wednesday it looked like a cancellation....but now not. I was going to get a cross, but that strikes me as cliche and I am betting the parents will be presented with a Bible.

I'm going to try the Manassas Christian bookstore, but the one at Potomac Mills had me discouraged. If I wanted dashboard Jesus, I was good to go. I'm hoping a shopaholic can tell me about a fabulous gift store or gift section, somewhere.

Well Paschal Lamb in Fairfax has many tasteful gift options, but it isn't close to you by any means. I hope you find something close that works for you.

Hallmark stores sell "Willow Tree" Angel figurines. Some in that line are small and can be used as tree ornaments.

I actually like the "Willow Tree" ones better than I like the ones sold at the Family Christian store.

Take a look in The Golden Goose in Occoquan. They may have something.

Also, I second Hallmark. They usually carry Precious Moments figurines, and they may have angels.

All great ideas, thank you all.......I will give them a shot....but I am still holding out to see a post with a description of what they came across today while shopping.........optomistic, I know, stranger things have happened.

Okay, I didn't find what I started out for......angels are definitely declining. I went to a different Christian bookstore and found the cutest music box that plays Jesus Loves Me. My other son picked up a sheep figurine (piggy bank) with a pink bow around its neck with a silver charm and on the side of the sheep it says "the Lord is my Shephard.". Double score. I did find angels at Hallmark, but none appropriate for a child. Hope this helps anyone that googles "gifts for Christening" looking for ideas.
