I just took my 3 year old to the doc and he needs glasses... Can anyone recommend a good place to fill the prescription (that deals well with kids)? We are in McLean...
THANKX!

I save a bundle on mine. The place is out of No. California. It is called zennioptical.com.
If you don't understand your prescription, you can fax it to them. I needed a pair last year, and was quoted 125 at COSTCO. I got a pair at zenni for 12 bucks. 1.57mm polycarbonate, tinting is 5 bucks extra, free case. No need to get ripped off.

I wouldn't recommend going online for young children's glasses -- the fit is critical for a 3 year old. We've gone to the Chesterbrook Eye Doctor on Old Dominion, which is in the new shopping strip adjacent to the Chesterbrook Safeway (where the freestanding Starbucks is). EYE Doctor - Eye Care My teenagers both got bare-bones glasses there as backups for their contacts. Dr. Tran is very pleasant, and it's a new practice, so she can give you an appointment quickly. And it's very convenient, which is important with a little one, as you will probably be making multiple trips until you get everything sorted out.
Good luck!

Zennioptical will give you half back if you don't like them for any reason. The exact measurements are on the site (in mm). The program will tell you if the frame you select is inappropriate for the pupillary distance of the prescription. Kids glasses do not come in that many sizes (maybe 10). If you had an extra 250 to pay for a 20 dollar pair of glasses; I don't think you would have started this thread.
