Down to earth people living in million dollar homes?? Good luck with that.
Also west cost has unduspitably better quality of life comparing to any other part of the country due to climate, landscape and local California food .

Not to mention the constant droughts and wild fires in southern California.

With the money saved I would setup a travel fund and make sure I took the children to major cities and cultural sites twice a year. That way you could hit DC, Paris, London, Istanbul...etc... rather than being tied to just one city. Just my humble opinion.

I personally am sick of this whole party as a sports team situation. I find most "Elite" politicians to be centrist and more involved in their own self interests rather than the bullet points they fall onto during election seasons. Elite politicians usually have more in common with each other than they do with the average American.

I am not anti Government, it is just the way I see it.

Though not an elite politician I would offer Rush Limbaugh up as an example. I do not think he cares about conservative or liberal but he is out to make money for Rush Limbaugh.

Sorry to derail. I will step off my soap box now.
Did you read her posts? Hubby wants to move specifically to DC. She's happy with that.

What is that suburban Maryland enclave that has banned nuclear weapons within it's borders? I'm drawing a blank....something Park?

Anyway, I think that's about as "crunchy" as it gets around here...

Yes I did but I did not read that part. Perhaps you can point that out to me?

All I see is they are planning on moving from LA to DC next year and that the husband wants to live close(ish) to a metro to so that they can get into DC easily on the weekends for museums. But there are several other statements that this would limit. I do not think that they are going to find a single family home on a large lot, close(ish) to a metro and with a good school system for $900.

So I made a suggestion that I felt would not only allow them access to DC but to a world of culture, perhaps next to a small family owned dairy farm so they could make artistically crafted cheeses as a family after milking cows together in the morning or something..

If you have a reasonable travel budget the world is a small place.

That sounds like the husband is in love with DC, not that he specifically wants to move here. It certainly does not mean that they would not listen to other places.

I mean if you take it at face value then why are they in the Northern VA forum and not the DC forum?

So instead of trying to be a semantics warrior perhaps you could help the OP?

Do not start an argument if there is no need.
