I snagged my suit jacket on a chain link fence. I was lifting my kid over the fence. Anyway, it got caught and has a straight .5" or so tear. Does anyone know if anyone can repair something like this.

A while back my dry cleaner noticed that I had torn my pants around the pocket. She said she could repair it, but the job was so-so. Basically, she sewed on a real thick knot around the tear. The thread she used matched the pants, but I was not too impressed. I still wear the pants, but mostly around the house. Also, the cost was $15.

Wanted something a little better than this. Thanks.

What you are looking for is someone who can do reweaving. It will be expensive and may not be worth it for an off-the-rack garment. This tells what it is.

It would help to know where you are, unless of course you are willing to drive an hour to get a small tear repaired.

The color of the jacket and location of the tear may help inform your options. If it's fancy fabric or a complex pattern, you may be limited.
