There is a much longer paper trail if you were fingerprinted after your arrest....those will stay with you forever....and when you are told to get copies of pertinent court records, you will find out that, by law, in Virginia, they don't keep misdemeanor stuff for more than 10 years...which won't speed anything up when the NCIC check shows the arrest. As far as adultery....someone who would compromise their family would be more of a risk to compromise their country....someone with bad credit is more of a risk around money, and also more black-mailable. Doesn't VA now have a standard fingerprint clearance card for people working with kids/adults? Might be worth the 40 bucks to see if you could even get that...because a Q or TS is a lot tougher.

I've been interviewed several times for security clearances of others that live around me. Each time I was asked if I knew of any acquaintances that might be of interest of the person we were talking about. Also, asked my opinions about mood, any observed strange behaviors, random people coming and going, late night stuff, that sort've thing. Anything that just basically sparked my curiousity of the person. Was certainly asked about alcohol observations for each person. Loose lips sink ships.

Glad I don't have to have one of these things. Not that I am a security risk, but just sounds like a royal pain in the butt.

Plus, I like a cold beer or 3 every now and then with my buddies.

See, already spilling secrets!
