My husband and I are moving up to NOVA/ Arlington area in December and will be needing either a daycare or a nanny share by February and March. At this point we'll have a nearly 2 year old and a newborn. We're currently looking at our budget and trying to figure out what price points we should expect for each of these options.

Also, this will be the first time we have used daycare, I've been a SAHM thus far but will have to go back to work in DC. If you've used both kinds of daycares can you tell me which one you preferred and why?

If you know of any good providers please do let me know that too! Thanks so much!

My toddler costs us ~$1750/mo in Arlington. We are probably on the high side for centers.

For daycare center, I would budget a minimum of $400/week for the infant and $300/week for the toddler. Can't help you on nanny share or specific recommendations in Arlington

Wide margin in NOVA. crystal city was $2,100 per month for infant but half that in PWC without any drop in quality and would argue care is even better. Tried to hire a nanny but that route never panned out.

It could have been looking at the wrong places for a nanny and even made offers but didn't work. Only went the daycare route.
