I prefer to be able to control my taxes based on my purchases so this works out well from my perspective.

For me, it's $25 .. Granted I drive a 10+ year old car. And I just realized my vehicle is eligible for an assessment reduction due to high mileage.. happy day.

this is why I drive a 10 year old car worth under 5K. If I ever upgrade, it will be another 8-10 year old car worth about the same.

There is no way I will pay a grand in car tax.

As I see it it's a tax on cars, diminishing new car sales.
