I'm thinking about taking the Fairfax Connector Bus Route 599 (a.k.a., Pentagon – Crystal City Express) to get to work. My question is just how quickly does the Reston North Park & Ride parking lot get full in the mornings? It looks like there are only 340 parking spots located at the Reston North Park & Ride.

I have friends who park at Reston North & Ride. I think they recently told me that you could get a spot at 6:30 a.m. but not later.

Its virtually impossible to get a space there-lots of metro riders park there so they dont pay Metro parking fee in the parking lot. I would not get there after 6 am for a spot.

I had read this in a WTOP article shortly after the Silver Line opened. Metro users overran the place and the commuter bus riders were not happy. If I found a place to buy in Reston, I'd consider taking the same bus to work, but the drive from there isn't that bad either in my opinion.

I found the article you are talking about: Battleground Reston: Silver Line, bus riders, carpoolers compete for free spots | WTOP

There are too many cheap ass people trying to beat the system. Ugh. I guess I'll have to wake up at 4:00 AM so that I can leave my place at 5:00 AM in order to find a parking spot at the Reston North Park & Ride. If I didn't have a government job, I would move out of the DMV area in a heartbeat!

Even boondocks areas have DMV-like problems. There is nothing anywhere about inalienable rights to life, liberty and free commuter parking.

This. There isn't a single place in the United States where people won't do everything they can to park their car for free instead of for a daily fee.
