In planning my morning commute, I've heard the toll road is the fastest way to get to the beltway from Reston provided I can get on there by about 7am. If anyone could tell me how much I can expect to spend in tolls each way It'd really help me out. Thanks in advance.

Get a smart tag, because it's easier to get on/off the toll road. It's $0.75 to get on the toll road from the beltway, and $0.50 to get off ..... or $2.50 per day

Virginia's smartag program is now part of the EZ pass program that runs through the North East, down to VA. You can get one at any state, and it will work throughout the corrider, but for Virginia's go towww.ezpassva.com

The toll road probably is the straightest route to get from Reston to the beltway. I'd say that 7 am is getting into prime commute time, though. You might consider advancing your schedule by 30 mins or so, in order to avoid potential stop and go traffic. How far around the beltway do you have to travel>

The EZ Pass office is actually in Reston, just off Reston Parkway. You can go there in person or apply for one online.

This is their website.

Best thing I ever did. Also, this pass now works in most of the North East States. I use my spare one even in MA and NH!!!

The office moved to Ashburn-don't have the address. But if I recall you can order your equipment over the phone or by e-mail and they'll mail your transponder to you.
