Can't say I'm all THAT excited about this, but to be clear, they're only taking over the upper level, the lower level is still Sears...for now...

I had to look them up as I've never heard of them before. So a restaurant / sports bar type? Meh.

Can I assume it doesn't smell like a dirty diaper, a la Chuck E Cheese?

Dave and Busters is in the Top Golf mode. Top Golf is a driving range with booze and food. Dave and Busters is an arcade with booze and food. I still like Skee-Ball

There are definitely kids, though there usually aren’t as many of the really young ones. And most importantly, there’s no giant creepy rat walking around.

Went to a Dave and Busters in Florida while visiting friends there years ago, favorable impressions and good experience. Unlike Chuck E Cheese, the games there have more appeal to adults and those who are older rather than young kids. The food was decent too, not top of the line, but at least average or a little more so, but for say the $10-20 meal price, you get what you pay for.
