A friend and I are going to rent out a place together, and I have been looking but I really want some suggestions. I currently live in Falls Church, and I am still interested in remaining in the area. I have looked around for some places, but I need some ideas.

I want to stay locally, but it is a MUST that I live by metro, close to D.C. I want a social life, and I want somewhere decent. There is an idea of a third room mate, but I don't know.

My friend makes the same as I do, so in total our income will be 3200/month, but we are both full time students desperately trying to catch up on bills and loans. Ideally, we both want to spend 600-800/month each.

I found 1 place and I like the place...but my ex lives there. I have been interested in moving to this apt prior to meeting him, does that mean i still can't move in? We are on okay terms. What would he think if he saw me there???

Help me out please! I need a place by June/July. Thanks!

As long as YOU can handle it emotionally, don't worry about what he thinks, if it's the best situation for you. (As long as you're not doing it for some hidden passive-aggressive reason or anything.)

Hmmm, what would Carolyn Hax say?

Is there any reason why you think this a problem other than it is a bit uncomfortable? If not, go ahead and move in.
