The Washington Biz Journal reported recently that the N VA areas would be getting its first Sprouts Farmers Market in Herndon, VA. This grocery store is from the West Coast and is expanding to N VA areas. It will be located in Herndon, VA at the closed Kmart.

Information is below--

Enjoy!

I've been to Sprouts when I visited AZ.

Is it really a done deal in Herndon? I ask because the article had this to say:

A representative for Sterling Org. declined to comment for this story, citing confidentiality agreements. A representative for Sprouts said it had not announced a Herndon store.

--------------------------

Also, as the article pointed out, Mom's is already in that shopping center. I wonder how all that will work out considering that both of them sell healthy foods...

Lotte is also moving into the shopping center, in the location where Big Lots was. That would be interesting to have 3 grocery stores in the same center.

Hi All, first post, I used to live in San Diego County and Sprouts was my go to market. Totally agree with the above poster, it is way better than Trader Joe's. I'm sure it will be a hit. Curious as to why Herndon? I think it would fare better inside the beltway, perhaps future locations.

Good point about Lotte. When is it supposed to open? I just googled it. Even though it is listed on the sign for the shopping center, it appears to not be open yet...?

Maybe it's the real estate cost. I'm sure that inside the beltway would be significantly more expensive.

Last time I looked at the site (a couple of weeks ago), it was still under construction. I thought that I had heard a date of sometime this fall, but I could be wrong.
