Apologies if this is posted elsewhere.

I currently reside in Aldie, but I'm now considering a pretty nice job opportunity in Silver Spring/White Marsh. Is there any way to make this commute work aside from personally driving myself everyday?

I've been researching slugging, I've never done it, but it appears that there is a Stone Ridge slug (not sure that I'm using the term right) to Rosalyn and Pentagon, but nothing coming back in the evening. Are either of those a direct route to the FDA?

Thanks for any guidance/tips/advice that you all may have.

What a rude comment, if you don't know the area - do NOT respond.

I do a long daily commute downtown from Middleburg. It is 1.5 hours each way on a good day.

I wouldn't touch the commute you are suggesting with a ten foot pole.

White Marsh MD is north of Baltimore. Aldie to Silver Spring during normal commute times would easily be two or more hours each way and that is if you are willing to pay to utilize the Dulles Toll Road to/ from the Beltway. Other routes would be even longer. Can't speak for White Marsh but would add a lot more time on top of the Silver Spring commute.

Thanks, I think I meant White Oak, but definitely the Silver Spring area. Sounds like I may need to pass on this opportunity :-(

Don't do it! My husband commuted from Herndon to Silver Spring last year and only lasted 6 months before he found another job closer to home. It took him 1 hour to 1.5 hours each way every day no matter what variation of timing he used - there is NO good time to avoid beltway traffic unless one leaves at 4am and goes home at 8pm.

Depends on how much patience you have. But seems like it would be a lot, but its doable. Just plan to leave at 5 am. It also depends on if the $$$ is worth the commute that far out.

No amount of money would have me in a car away from my family for 3+ hours a day.

Thanks for all the insight everyone. Currently I work remote so any commute from Aldie would be substantial. It sounds like I may be passing on this opportunity unless they have a liberal telework option or other flexible work arrangements.

These are things I should have considered prior to relocating here.
