Maybe go West on 66, drive around the beltway and come up Rt 1 to Glebe. Do you think that will be faster?
I suspect he’s concerned about the many stoplights on Glebe, which are not synchronized. It makes for a very unpleasant drive even with little traffic, and there usually is a lot of traffic on that route.

In that case, take George Mason to 50 east. The he has a choice of exiting at Glebe or exiting at 27 and getting there from there.

Exactly.

At this point, I’ll probably try Glebe first and see what happens. A straight line isn’t necessarily the best way. Case in point, my current commute back and forth to Fairfax on 66.
