‘Bout time!

It’s nice when politicians do this rare thing called working together.

Meh, this will help, but how expensive will the toll be? I rather them make a totally new bridge instead of expanding it and slapping a giant toll on it.

I think it’s the next best thing to a new bridge upstream. I’m glad Governor Hogan didn’t allow himself to be held hostage by Montgomery County.

This, for sure. It’s going to take the Freddy Kruger nightmare that it already is and sprinkle in some Jason, Leatherface, it, and that crazy chic from The Ring all in one.

Might as well commute via canoe...

I disagree. While I think the project will be a headache, I don't think it will amount to a commuter apocalypse. There are construction methods available to keep multiple lanes open during projects like these, especially during peak travel times.

LOL No offense to you, but do you know this area? Peak travel times on 495 is practically 24/7. I can get stuck on 495 on a random Saturday evening or Sunday afternoon.

Yes, I know the area. I’ve lived here 20 years and I currently commute over the Legion Bridge twice a day. As I said, the project will be a big headache, but it will not be a disaster. And the long-term benefits outweigh the construction inconveniences.

Peak travel times on that section of the Beltway are not 24/7. Yes, rush hour and some weekend afternoons can be bad, but traffic over the bridge outside of these times is typically free-flowing.
