Oak Hill borders 28 and ultimately, Dulles property. 20170 north of ToH borders 20164/Sterling Park. Function of the FFX/Loudoun border running SW while 28 runs N-S.

From the Wiki link I posted:

The United States Postal Service defines Oak Hill's boundaries by way of its ZIP code, 20171.

If you look at the map in the Wiki link, you will see it places Oak Hill in Fairfax County, not LoCo.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There is an area called Oak Grove which is off 606. It's in LoCo near the Herndon border and the zip code there is 20166.

Oak Hill, Oak Grove. For such an educated place, Northern VA could be a lot more creative naming places. I'm petitioning to get 20194 renamed to "Tyson's Corner Cube Jockeys". Pretty soon some rapper will be walking around the North Point Village Starbucks with a "TCCJ" logo on his cap.

I can see how Oak Hill and Oak Grove can get confused for one another.

As for your renaming 20194 ---

Which came first? The name of the area or all the educated people that you are talking about?

I don't know. I live in Sterling Park and had no idea I bordered Oak Hill. Isn't Oak Hill south of the town of Herndon?

My wife and I live in Sterling Park. We don't have kids and we don't feel isolated. I grew up in Arlington and she grew up in Southern VA. We are friendly with our neighbors and when the weather get's nicer we invite them over for cookouts. My family and a lot of my friends are still in Arlington, so at least I'm not that far away to see them on the weekends, but most of the time there is plenty of stuff to do out here.

As you know this area is expensive. If you can get a decent house in a good area, you are doing alright.

Where in Sterling Park do you live? I'm not looking for an exact address, just the general area.

We lived in Sterling Park for 30 years and saw the drastic change in demographics to the point where such neighborhoods like yours became few and far between.
