Hi all. I will be relocating to NoVA soon. I just got hired for a job in DC. I'm looking for an apartment that is close to the metro. I'm willing to move to a place that is one hour away from DC. Willing to spend about $1,000 or less. If you know of any basements or any rooms that are for rent, please let me know as well.

If you are willing to not have a private bath and/or a smaller room, you could find a room for < $1k in Arlington or East Falls Church near a metro. It would be helpful to know which line of the Metro your office is near for more specialized recommendations.

That amount of money could get you a place if you're willing to have a roommate. It all depends, as the previous post said, which Metro line you want to be near.

I also wanted to say --- I like your screen name! Plus, there is a serious lack of PR food in the DMV. If I want PR food, I have to make it myself. I don't know if that matters to you or not but I just wanted to point it out.

You're not even gonna find a place down in somewhere like Stafford for 1,000. Probably best for you to get a roommate somewhere up north like Alexandria or so.
