I got pulled over for speeding in my DBS Volante the other day going 63mph in a 40mph zone (Reston Pkwy). This was the first time I had gotten pulled over for speeding in a decade and I have no points on my license. The officer said he'd ordinarily give me a ticket, but because of COVID-19, I'd get off with just a verbal warning. I ask this question because of the very high insurance I pay on my car. My insurance classes it as an "exotic car" and as such, I pay in excess of $3k a year to insure it. If I were driving my Volvo I wouldn't care as much, since I pay significantly less per year on that. Based on my own research, I haven't found any definitive answer, but it seems like some states do not report warnings to the DMV and insurance providers, but others do? Does VA report warnings, or not? Thanks.

I think only points increase your rates. At least that's been the case in my household.

No. Warnings are not reported.

I think I actually saw your car when I was on Reston Parkway myself the other day. Was this the Volante that had the sticker on its rear bumper that reads "My Other Car Is A PT Cruiser"?

No ticket, no evidence of a violation for your insurance company. Your good driving record probably saved you.
