I was checking out some apartments in this area. I have heard that some parts of 22204 and 22206 can be rough. What do you guys think? Safety is very important for me and my husband. We are thinking of starting a family soon. Thanks!

There are two 801 Greenbrier Streets in Arlington...one North off Wilson Boulevard and one South, near Carlin Springs Road and Columbia Pike. I assume you mean South, and from what is a vicinity familiarity, that's not a bad area at all, just not so upscale as all that. Pretty much middle class. Up North, it would be a little bit spiffier and pricier, but otherwise pretty much comparable. Maybe some will have a more localized impression to pass on...

That area along Columbia Pike near Bailey's Crossroads has a large immigrant population. There seems to be more crime reports in that section of town than in many other parts of Arlington (though I think south of Col. Pike is worse). That being said, I know someone from work that rented a condo a couple of blocks away from that address, and liked it so much that she ended up buying one just a floor away. So, I'd suggest going over there during the day and in the evening and see how you like it. One nice thing about commuting is that Columbia Pike is the most heavily bussed route in Virginia and it goes right to the Pentagon metro stop.

I'm thinking of moving to S 19th Street just south of the Army Navy Country Club......rough area? Does anyone have any knowledge of this area or subdivision (Johnsons Hills)?
