My fiance just recently took a job in Fredericksburg, VA and I will be transfering to an office in Leesburg VA, therefore, we thought Warrenton VA would be a good area to move to so we split the difference in travel. The complicated part is I have never been to the area and we need to move in 2 months. Please comment on travel conditions and living conditions in the area. Any information would help.

Leesburg is getting crowded, if i were you i would move faster before all the land is gone....And the traffic in the Washington DC area is heavy.

I'd like to be positive, but traffic here is a disaster. The commute to Leesburg would be a killer. I live in Warrenton and traffic here and living conditions are fine, but going east towards the city becomes terrible in the Gainesville area, and Gainesville is pretty much unavoidable getting to Leesburg.

There is hardly any way I can imagine to work in Lessburg and Fredericksburg from Warrenton or maybe from anywhere at all, unless you are commuting very much off normal hours. There is train service from DC to Fredericksburg that might help.

Ouch, I hate to say I agree with Jim. I live in Leesburg now and my guess is the commute from Warrenton to Leesburg would be at least an hour and to Fredericksburg it would be worse! Any offices closer to Fredericksburg that you could relocate to?

Getting to Fredericksburg from Warrenton, you wouldn't be facing that much traffic (I live in Haymarket and went to college in Fredericksburg. It will be between a 30-40 minutes or so, depending on where in either city you are starting/ending your commute). Travel down Route 17 from Warrenton instead of driving to the Interstates (it does not make sense to travel up thoguh the cities to go down to Fredericksburg).
Leesburg may be a bit longer of a drive. To get to Leeseburg from the Haymarket/Gainesville area I would take Route 15, instead of the Intersates.
