Speaking of colleges, does anyone have an opinion on Goerge Mason's ICAR (Institute for Conflict Analysis and Resolution) program? I am looking into the Master/PhD program. Any other schools that I should look into?

Institute for Conflict Analysis and Resolution

Thanks

American University has an International Peace and Conflict Resolution Program in its School of International Service. Also, Johns Hopkins University's SAIS has a Conflict Management Program.

I am currently in the GMU Global Affairs program, so we have to take courses in Conflict Resolution. From what one of the CR professors told me, it is one of the first of its kind. mlv311 mentioned the other 2 that I would recommend as well. I can try to get more information on the GMU ICAR program if you are looking for some specific information.

Sorry for the delayed response, I am in the BA program, but the professor that I mentioned also teaches classes at the graduate level.

Thanks for the reply Stax. I am looking at a couple of other conflict resolution programs, but I hadn't really considered international studies. How do you like the BA program? Would you consider continuing into the graduate program at GMU?

^ What strikes me as odd is that GMU has a Global Affairs major and a Govt. and International Politics one. I'm currently taking the later and for the most part aside from the extra year you must learn of a language, and a couple global classes, the two majors are very similar unless you stray away and try to understand a region in the world.

I am going to apply to this program for fall '09 as a non-matriculated student. I am going to take the classes to see if I like it or not. I have heard wonderful things about the program so I am hopeful.
