I have a 21 yr old nephew with special needs that just moved to Loudon County. We would like to find him a good place to go for weekly activities. Whether it be swimming or just a place to get out of the house and socialize. He's been in a special school in NYC for most of his life and just graduated from there last June. Now that he's in VA, he doesn't have a routine and is bored. Please advise, thanks!

I know these two suggestions can have specific mindsets with them, but just two on my mind: a religious young adult group or the Young Republicans/Young Democrats team?

If he is looking for something more middle of the road, like bike riding, I believe there are cycling clubs. They might attract an older crowd though.... MeetUp appears to be a big thing in DC/Arlington.

Does he like music? I hear of lots of people his age joining casual bands.

Hope this helps and best of luck to him.
