I recently graduated from college, and got a job offer located in Fairfax. I will be living with my sister in Fredericksburg for a while before I start looking for a place to live near Fairfax. I am fairly new to the whole city commute, and need the best advice on how to commute from Fredericksburg to Fairfax.
I believe most ppl say my best bet is to either slug-line/carpool, or take the VRE (Franconia/Springfield for example). But if I do take the VRE, will that take me straight to Fairfax? Or do I need to keep commuting from DC to Fairfax? Forgive me for my lack of knowledge I am new to this!!! ANY help is appreciated, thanks in advanced!

Your best bet will probably be VRE. That commute is AWFUL. I would definitely look into their schedules. I don't know if it drops off right in Fairfax but I'm sure their website would say. I do know there is a VRE station in Burke, but I don't know if there is one closer. Good luck!
