Does anyone have a similar commute from Annandale/North Springfield, or any other area close to the beltway at Braddock Road or Little River Turnpike to Rockville or Montgomery County, MD? I currently live in Alexandria right off the GW Parkway and take the Parkway to 495 to 270 for work and it is a pretty consisent 45-50 minutes, which I can live with. I am looking at a house in North Springfield/Annandale with a half mile of the beltway at Braddock Road. I'm wondering how bad traffic is heading towards the Legion Bridge in the morning. I have pretty "normal" hours, typically getting to work by 8:30 and leaving by 6. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!

I used to take the Beltway from 267 to Rockville and it was not bad at all...its the opposite direction that is slow in the morning. For some reason it always took longer coming home.

The Inner Loop is always a crapshoot it seems to me. Breeze or crawl...who knows. Slowdowns between 267 and the bridge, but not as bad as what I've seen on the GW Parkway getting up to 395. All in all, I'd guess the times would be about comparable. Agree completely with <daaaaave> on the evening thing...it just takes longer...

I cross over the Beltway on Braddock Road every morning about 8:15.

Most of the time the Inner Loop is a parking lot....which I believe will only get worse as the Hot Lane construction heats up.

Yeah so it sounds like it wouldn't be horrendous to do, but definitely plan on sitting in some traffic...thanks for the responses.
