I used to work for the Army Materiel Command on Belvoir. They were in the BRAC group moving to Huntsville Alabama. That was nearly 3 years ago & they have yet to move.

As with most Government processes....it's a slow moving animal.

BRAC is about half way complete in Huntsville. There's a gigantic AMC building under construction on the Redstone Arsenal. In addition there are gigantic MDA (Von Braun III) and NASA buildings under construction on the Arsenal too.

There are a ton of open positions both government and contractor all over Huntsville.

Have you noticed an increase in housing demand and prices because of it?

Lol, I think that you worded that sentence a little odd. I know BRAC issues quite well, but I had to re-read the question multiple times (You make "The BRAC" sound like a company lol)

In regards to VA, BRAC enlarged Ft. Belvoir and Ft. Lee. They will both see thousands of more personnel stationed at both locations, as well as upgraded infrastructures, and unit diversification. The realignment has been underway since a year ago at least.

The orders were for a lot of Virginia personnel to be relocated to Fort Belvoir, on base. When they (and Fairfax County) realized the space and road constraints, they looked for an additional site, winding up with the Mark Center complex in Alexandria. The funny thing is, despite being nowhere near Ft Belvoir, due to the requirements, it's to be considered part of Ft Belvoir - like an annex, or Ft Belvoir North.
