Dismissed on record? (Orange: speeding ticket, area, pay)

So I got a speeding ticket in Orange, VA. 52 in a 35. It was a speed trap I had just left 45 mph speed zone and was dropping from 52 in 45 to 35 when he got me.

I showed up plead guilty. The judge asked what my driving record looked like. They pulled my driving record and I did not have any ticket/conviction on my driving record and he asked how long had been I been driving -15 years.

So the judge looked at me and said "Ok. Dismissed on record."

I understand I don't have to pay a fine, but does dismissed 'on record', mean that it went on my driving record anyway?

I believe it means: if/when you get another ticket it won't be dismissed because of your good driving record, it just shows that you did have one dismissed already because of your record.

I called the courthouse clerk and the clerk said it just means the charge was dropped because of your good driving record and "dismissed" won't show up on my driving record.

It's not an area that I normally drive in and it was a stretch of road that went from 45 to 35 quickly. I was going about 50 in 45 and adjusting to 35 mph zone.

Ah well, I was lucky.
