Depends on the time of day.

But you're looking at about an hour commute in decent (outside of rush hour) traffic conditions.

That's a haul and no easy way to avoid a lot of different bad traffic situations. If you don't have another worker in the family who has a commute in a different direction, you might be better off looking at the Lorton/Springfield area.

The easiest way to avoid much of the traffic is 495 to Huntington Avenue exit, cross over Route 1 (too many lights), take a right on Fort Hunt, and a right on Morningside Lane. The Beltway slows at Van Dorn, but usually a rolling back-up. If it's really stopped, exit at Van Dorn, take a left, right on Eisenhower, to Telegraph Road, to Huntington Avenue. Telegraph passes under Eisenhower, so you would have to take a left at Mill Road (by the Courtyard Marriott, not by the court house as that's out of your way), right on Telegraph to the ramp on the right to Huntington.

If you get on The Beltway via Route 50 or Little River Turnpike, you would have a shorter commute. The Vienna Metro area would add to the commute, but if you could find something off Braddock or Little River Turnpike, it would make the commute smoother.
