....Then they caught a break. Fairfax County police detectives got word that people were trying to pawn items allegedly stolen from one of the Sterling Park homes, said Loudoun sheriff's spokesman Kraig Troxell. They notified Loudoun authorities, leading to the arrest of four people in connection with the Loudoun burglaries.

we had vehicle burglaries in our neighborhood, but everyone who had items missing said they never locked the doors on their car. I'm not sure if this is the case for these homes.

Amazing how many people in this area don't lock their car doors. Read all the time about stuff being stolen from cars and then at the end of the police report it mentions the car was not locked. I don't think anywhere near as many people leave their houses unlocked, but hard to know. Had my house broken into last year but they broke through the sliding glass door by breaking the glass.

Knock on wood, but we haven't had any burglaries yet. I don't leave the house unlocked, but I'm guilty of leaving the car in the street unlocked at times. I've gotten better about it, but sometimes I forget. It's a bad habit, I know.

Keeping the door unlocked can save you on the cost of a new car window.
