this question is for those who are familiar with western Loudoun County. I'm looking to take my 1 & 2 year old children strawberry picking, and would like to know what farms you recommend? Please include name of farm, location and price. If you know the website, that would be great too. I tried looking online without much luck so I'd thought I'd try asking here. I live in Sterling. Thanks!

Great Country Farms in Bluemont. Their Strawberry Jubilee (http://www.greatcountryfarms.com/index.php/annual-events/strawberry-jubilee.html - broken link) festival is coming up on May 19-20. There is a lot to do there - barnyard animals, bounce pad, cow train, hayrides, etc.

Wegmeyer Farms in Hamilton.

We have been going to Mackintosh Farm in Berryville. Last update indicates that their strawberries are not ready to be picked though...

Wow, I just looked up Wegmeyer Farms, and the strawberries are $3.99 per pound! That's expensive. I picked 10 pounds last week here in Chapel Hill, and they were $1.55 per pound. I know that doesn't help you, but it may make sense to shop around and make a phone calls before you head out to a farm. I think there is a great variance in prices.

Just had to rub it in, didn't cha' Mr. Tarheel!

Not to hijack, but I miss CH. My old office use to be in Meadowmont, and would commute from Apex up 751... Oh...those were nice days, and nice drives!
