I'm relocating from Florida back to the NoVA area. In Florida, we have a place called O2BKids that is awesome! They provide before and after-school activities for children from ages 0-13 such as dance, gymnastics, karate, science, sports, music, drama, art, languages, cheerleading, rock climbing wall, homework assistance, field trips, and even a pre-school / pre-k curriculum.

Is there any such place in NoVA? I've searched the forums, Google, whitepages.com, etc. and can't find any such place.

Thanks!

You know, for all the kids around here, I've been unpleasantly surprised at how few of these types of places can be found in NoVA. I don't know why, maybe it's the high rents...

Anyway. I don't think we have anything as big and comprehensive as what you've listed here. The ones I know of are:

At Play Cafe
in Reston
Kid Drop Zone in Gainesville
Monkey Business in Falls Church (I've heard this place is now called MoBu Kids, but the website doesn't reflect that...)

Not much, and almost entirely geared to the younger set. But I will say that Fairfax County has a fantastic Parks Department and offers all sorts of activities and classes for kids. Tons of them. Including a preschool. And the price is right. The only downside is that FFX County is huge, and the class you need/want might be 45 minutes away from where you live, considering traffic. You can check them out here.

You probably can find a really good daycare that would provide the homework help, snacks, etc on school days and then good daycares will have a really good summer program that takes the kids to activities such as karate, swimming, skating, parks, field trips and on days when school is closed they usually do something like the movies, etc. Most of the good daycares also have preschool and pre-k programs.

Take a look at the Jewish Community Center of Northern Virginia. (You don't have to be Jewish to enroll in programs or be a member.)
