I don't think that's possible in Virginia. Maybe in Maryland.

300,000 and walking distance to Orange Line might get you a condo but that's probably it.

I agree, there is no such townhouse on the orange line in VA.

Sorry. As others have noted that doesn't exist. You can probably find a studio or 1-BR condo near the Orange Line in Arlington for $300,000, but the cheapest single-family detached dwelling I could find in Arlington when I did a search a couple of weeks ago (that ended up in a brou-ha-ha in and of itself, but I digress) was nearly $400,000! Welcome to DC, where you get the Manhattan prices without all of the glitz and glamour! LOL!

As others have said you will not find a townhouse below 300K along the Orange Line. In Arlington you will be looking at around 500K + for that. Head further out towards Falls Church or Vienna the prices will be somewhat lower but I still doubt it can be done for less than 425-450K. A smaller condo perhaps could be attained in that price.

It definitely isn't cheap to live here, but I'll take our 400K-500K for a 2 bedroom apartment close to transit compared to 800K-1 mil for a similar one in Manhattan. Prices in suburban areas of Long Island and New Jersey are also considerably higher than the burbs of the DC area.

Hahaha, that is true.

As for the OP, there is a cluster of townhouses/condos in Falls Church called Winter Hill. They sometimes go around 300K, especially if the unit isn't updated. They're older and pretty small. They're not next door to the Orange Line but close enough to either have a brisk 20 minute walk to East Falls Church, or a very short bus ride.

High 300s could get you a townhome in (long) walking distance to the nutley metro zip 22030. I looked at a rental a few rentals there that would go for 380+. All in need of some renovation. That is the furthest out stop.

If you would consider renting a townhouse, there are plenty for under 2k a month in 22031.

I don't know anything about the Metro (though we're moving to Nova soon so I am sure I will learn more about it), but does this help you at all?
