Hi all! Can anyone give me any information on the commute from Herndon (Woodland Park area) to Seven Corners; leaving Herndon between 6:30 - 6:45 am? I imagine the toll road to 495 to 50 is the best route?

I currently live in Sterling, and am considering moving to Herndon. My commute is currently awful as it is Route 7 most of the way. Any info/advice would help! Thanks!

Take Dulles Toll Rd (267) and Interstate 66.
Get off at exit 69, the Washington Blvd exit.
Just go straight on Washington Blvd until the second light. This should be Sycamore St. You should also see the East Falls Church Metro parking lot on your right. You should turn right at the corner and continue directly to Seven Corners.

Lchoro's way is definitely the best way, just not between 6:30am and 9am weekdays when I-66 East is HOV-2 and Motorcycles only.

Otherwise, the Toll Road to 495 to 50 East is probably the best way, but the backup from the Main Toll Plaza to the Beltway can be rough. 50 East between Graham Road and Seven Corners can be slow as well.

Get some good podcasts to enjoy on the ride.

Possible also:

Toll Road -> 495S -> Leesburg Pike (Rt. 7) East

How is it if you take Lewinsville Rd / Great Falls St as a side street to bypass Tysons Corner and Route 7 traffic?

HOV restrictions beyond route 123 exit after 630am. You can get off the toll road there, go immediately right on Great Falls St. - take it to where it ends at Washington St in Falls Church City, right there - go about 2 blocks, and then left on 7 for the mile or so drive into Seven Corners.

Not great, but better than 7 though Tyson's.

That's a two lane road that can get very congested.
