I don't understand what stigma is supposedly attached to Sterling, Reston, or Herndon. All of those areas have lower priced housing along with housing in the million dollar range. I would say that is true for most areas in NoVa except for the newer areas built in the last 20 years.
I agree that there is some unwarranted prejudice regarding certain neighborhoods and entire towns. I lived in Reston and Sterling and didn't find it bad. The problem that I had was that they were both too suburban for my tastes.

20166 is located in Sterling/Dulles. Sterling Park is a little farther down the boulevard; you'll find a shopping center there.

They really should split Sterling into it's various sections and assign new names. Sterling is so big it's meaningless.

At least those are actual cities that chose their name. The name "Sterling" was just assigned by the Post Office to cover a variety of unincorporated communities east of Rt. 28, from the Potomac to Dulles Airport. There is no Sterling City Hall or town of Sterling, it's just a random grouping from the USPS. Ridiculous.

If they did that, maybe Loudoun County could make some money by selling the naming rights to corporations. I heard there's some town that just renamed themselves Google.

LOL, that might be ok if the communities ended up with cool names like Amazon or Adidas. But with my luck I'd end up living in Kleenex. Can you imagine living in Jiffy Lube, Virginia?

On the south side of (pick a street name) the road you are in Jiffy. On the north side of (same road) you are in Lube

I still want to know the history behind "Butts Corner" (heh... that label appears on a section of Fairfax Station on Google Maps).
