I learned something from another forum: Spray your shovel with some WD-40 and the snow just slides off instead of sticking to the shovel. Woo hoo!

Yes, that works well. And, if you don't have WD-40, you can always get by with Canola oil spray, or any cooking spray that's oil-based. The baking mix sprays, however, will make more of a mess.

We used Pam cooking spray this AM; our next pancakes are going to be seriously lousy but it made for much easier shoveling.

I have a hard plastic snow shovel I've had for about 15 years. Nothing sticks to it.
