Yet again the 15 yr old has a wrestling match tomorrow at 6 at W Springfield HS, not looking forward to the traffic on 95. Are there any shortcuts or anyway to get beyond at least the Duke St exit without being on the interstate?

Sorry I forgot that, coming from Courthouse metro area in Arlington, we usually get on 50 then take the exit to Richmond.

You can get off at Duke St. and take it west to Braddock Rd., turn south/west on Braddock. Then either take 1) Backlick Rd (south) to Old Keene Mill (west) to Rolling Rd. (north) OR 2) Burke Lake Rd. (south/west) to Rolling Rd. (south).

Frankly, I-395 usually opens up a bit after Duke St. until Springfield, I'd probably just stay on I-395/I-95 to Old Keene Mill Rd. (west).

Take Wilson Boulevard to Seven Corners, hang a left on Route 7, but try to stay right (weird intersection so get in the left lane prior to the Eden Center and watch the signs), and then an immediate right on Sleepy Hollow Road by the bank and storage building.

Follow Sleepy Hollow Road to Kerns Road.

Take a right on Kerns, then a left on Annandale Road (end of Kerns).

Follow Annandale Road, crossing over Gallows (where the name turns into Hummer Road, just stay straight) to a right on Little River Turnpike (Route 236 west by a 7-11 and a large office building).

Cross over the Beltway and stay to the left.

Take a left on Wakefield Chapel Road (right after NOVA), and follow to Braddock Road (end of Wakefield Chapel).

Turn right on Braddock Road and stay to the middle left to make a turn on Rolling Road, and then follow to the school on your right.

You can also take the turn at Burke Lake Road (big intersection, double left turn lane), but you need to be in the far left to make the next left on Rolling, and that's not always easy to do from Wakefield Chapel. If you're in the far left lane and get on Burke Lake Road, just turn left at the first light on Burke Lake Road, at the end of the shopping plaza on your right. That is Rolling Road, and then the school will be on your right.

Note: If you cannot get on Sleepy Hollow, as it can be a challenge to get to the far right, stay straight, and take the next right at the gas station, and then an immediate right behind it on Castle, then follow to the end, and make a left on Sleepy Hollow.

Thanks for the directions, after sitting on a on ramp last week trying to get out to Lorton, we wanted to find some back roads. This works well because Wilson is 2 streets over from where we are staying.

I will pass the well wishes on to Cupcake tonight, he wrestles varsity tonight at home and is wrestling in the 189 weight class Hopefully he can make it thru all 3 rounds without getting pinned.

I did find directions to all the teams we will play on the Yorktown athletics website, the only one not on there is Paul VI. Thanks again for all the directions and well wishes.

Good luck, and if you need directions to Paul VI, they're easy and I can give you a couple of options to avoid the wicked Route 50 traffic in Fairfax.
