The snow's mostly melted, so let the clean up begin! Step one: fill in the potholes. Politicians are vowing we'll get most of 'em repaired ASAP. I'm crossing my fingers that they're right, but suspect we'll be dealing with them for a few weeks.

So how are the potholes in your neck of the woods? Any real doozys on your commute? Lowes Island is looking pretty good but I saw a pretty impressive one on Sterling Blvd. the other day. You know a pothole is serious when all ten cars in front of you swerve around it.

going North on Fort Hunt Rd here in Alexandria is really bad. I have to take that road to get my kid to school and I'm constantly swerving. The middle lane on Rt. 1 heading north has some doozies too.

Belmot Ridge Rd in Ashburn (leading towards Brambleton) was really bad a couple of weeks ago. The road is narrow and curvy as it is, it wasn't fun dodging all the pot holes. But I gotta say, it only took them a few days to fix it which was awesome! I remember last year that Claiborne Pkwy in Ashburn was horrible, and so was Fairfax County Pkwy close to GMU. Didn't take long for those to get fixed but yeah, it was a bumpy ride.

Telegraph Road is hellish. It looks like Ft. Belvoir did some light bazooka practice on it.

I just passed a crew fixing the dreadful Old Ryan Road northbound between Loudoun County Parkway and the "Broadlywood" sign (that's what I call the big Broadlands fountain). That road is always lousy with potholes anyway because of the Moorefield Village construction traffic, but after the snows it was especially dangerous. I suspect that because that whole area is going to be developed soon, they are probably hesitant to fix it up too much (like Belmont Ridge Road, it suffers from low/no shoulder).

this is a bit "out there" but Snickersville Turnpike from Middleburg into Purcellville is a war zone.

George Mason Dr in Arlington and most of West End Alexandria is bad. I think we'll still have a lot of them by the time I leave in May.

There's one on the back road leading to Costco that's pretty bad. It's not wide, but deep. If a tire just happens to hit it wrong, it could do a lot of damage. I asked the manager at Costco to put a orange cone next to it (it's a private road).

I-95N between exit 158 and 160. There are some absolute craters in the right lane. The whole right lane feels like it's starting to crumble, and then there are a few potholes that absolutely pound the car. In part due to these potholes, I need to take my car in for an alignment adjustment this week.

We just got our car aligned....guess we'll be doing that again. Braddock isn't so nice from Guinea to the Beltway.
